Introducing Plasma Pen Fibroblasting Treatment for Wrinkles – By Dr. Kelly Burkenstock

Plasma Pen is one of the newest cosmetic procedures to combat wrinkles, loss of collagen, and sagging skin. As we age, the deep dermal layer of our skin thins, we produce less collagen, and we lose elasticity. All of these factors produce sagging and wrinkling of the skin. The Plasma Pen is a procedure targeting a wide variety of skin conditions including loss of elasticity, sagging, and wrinkles that have been traditionally treated with fillers or plastic surgery.

No matter how well we stick to a skin care routine or how good our genetics are, we all inevitably get wrinkles and other physical signs of aging. While we may not be able to get rid of all of the signs of aging, we certainly have dynamic treatments to Turn Back the Sands of Time!  There are a number of Anti Aging procedures available- BOTOX, Fillers, Lasers, and Plastic Surgery and now the Plasma Fibroblasting Pen that reduce the look of wrinkles more effectively than ever before.  Plasma Pen Fibroblasting is one such Anti-Aging treatment that uses an energy plasma electrical arc. It’s designed to rebuild collagen and elastin and plump thinning skin. Here is everything you need to know about Plasma Pen Fibroblasting and how it can help you.

What is the Plasma  Fibroblasting Pen treatment?

The plasma significantly tightens, lifts, resurfaces, and regenerates practically any area of the skin.

The Plasma Fibroblasting Pen converts electrical energy into nitrogen gas and transmits that energized nitrogen gas, (the plasma arc) in a non-contact way to the skin’s surface. This causes a micro-trauma to the skin’s epidermal layer (top layers) while simultaneously heating and disrupting the deeper skin layers (dermal layers) via thermal or heat conduction. This treatment creates a  fibroblasting effect creating a micro-millimeter- sized dot on the skin’s surface. This pinpoint dot tightens the surrounding skin. Our Fibroblasts are the most common cells of connective tissue in the skin and body that produce collagen so by addressing the Skin Fibroblasts we can create new collagen.

(Heat conduction (thermal conduction) is the movement of heat from one object to another one that has different temperature when the objects touch. For example, we can warm our hands by touching hot-water bottles.)

There are Low Frequency (LF+) and High Frequency medical Plasma Fibroblasting Pens. The Low Frequency (LF+) technology offers the most control and precise treatment with less pain and less downtime. The Low Frequency technology offers a wide and shallow skin imprint and provides skin tightening that continues to improve after the treatment.

The Plasma Fibroblasting Pen is an Anti Aging method that uses low frequency technology as well as a patented wavelength and power combinations to dramatically improve the texture and quality of your skin. A physician performs the treatment after applying a local anesthetic. The equipment used to administer the Fibroblasting treatment looks like, as the name suggests, a specialized medical pen with a needle in it. The needle will be held above the skin and the heat plasma energy is delivered to the skin.

How does it work?

Plasma Fibroblasting Pens work by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin. Collagen is the material in our skin that gives it its elasticity. Wrinkles occur when there is a substantial reduction in elasticity of the skin.

What does the Plasma Fibroblasting Pen Procedure treat?
The treatment produces excellent results for any area of the body, particularly the face and neck regions.  It also dramatically improves:

  • Lines around mouth/neck
  • Skin sagginess or laxity
  • Smile
  • Acne scars
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Forehead lines
  • Jowl / jawline tightening
  • Marionette lines – The folds that run vertically from the corners of the mouth down to the chin
  • Nasolabial folds- The folds that run from the sides of your nose down to the edge of your mouth
  • Necklines, turkey neck
  • Smoker’s lines – the vertical lip wrinkles, or  lipstick lines
  • Stretch marks
  • Upper and lower eyelids – Bags and hoods

Talk to your Anti-Aging Cosmetic Physician to see if your specific skin problems can be resolved with this type of treatment. You will be surprised how good your skin can look!

What are the benefits of the Plasma FibroblastingPen?

The ability to target precise areas –
Most people want to focus on one specific area of their skin, whether it’s the mouth or eyes. The precision of this procedure means that you’re more likely to see the results you want, where you want it.. Also, the surrounding areas that are not treated will not be affected.

A faster healing time –
The healing time is short for this procedure that delivers such impressive, long term results.  The healing time is 3 to 7 days. Some pink areas may take a while longer to fade. Most people are completely healed in a week.

Reproducible results –
Many procedures can’t promise exact results or reproduce the results of the last procedure. With the Plasma Fibroblasting Pen treatment, you can expect the same results every single time.

Longer lasting results protects your rejuvenation investment –
The longer a procedure lasts, the more money you can save since you will be able to put off the next procedure for a longer amount of time.

Am I a good candidate for the Plasma Fibroblasting Pen Procedure?

It is a great option for many Aging skin issues. Mild to moderate skin concerns, such as wrinkles or acne scars.

If you have deep wrinkles or serious issues, a deeper laser treatment might be more appropriate.

The procedure can help people with most skin types. However, people with a lighter complexion, skin tone,  will see more substantial results.

How long does the Plasma Fibroblasting Pen Treatment take?

The wrinkle treatment will take  20 minutes or less to treat small areas. Treating multiple areas or larger areas can take longer. Your physician will use a local anesthetic on your skin, so there will be minimal discomfort. There is also a short recovery time of 3 to 7 days.

What should I expect after the treatment?

People will be able to tell that you had a treatment done once you leave the physician’s office. There will be mild redness, swelling, and dotting in the affected areas.  The dotted treatment areas will then form tiy pinpoint scabs and flake off. This will take about three days to a week to heal. To help facilitate the healing process, you should not drink alcohol, smoke, or pick the tiny scabs that may form. You will want to follow a proper skin care regime after the procedure to encourage and prolong results. Your physician will guide you to the best products for your face.

When should I expect to see results?

You will see some results immediately after the procedure. You will notice even more of a difference when you are fully healed. However, it’s important to remember that you will get a better sense of your results in time once the body responds to the increased amount of collagen. Be patient and give it some time collagen can continue to rebuild and turn over for over six months.

Are treatments covered by insurance?

Cosmetic and aesthetic Anti-Aging treatments are not covered by health insurance. Treatments range in price and are based on the size of the area or areas being treated. For example, the upper eyelids will cost about $800. Frown lines cost about $300. If you want multiple areas treated, package pricing is available, and there are added savings for treating and entire face. As well as face and neck packages. Looking as good as you feel can enhance your self esteem and the feeling of youth is priceless!

We all deserve to look our best. We also don’t want to go under the knife to do it. The Plasma Fibroblasting Pen provides the opportunity to get noticeable and controlled results without having to undergo surgery. The sooner you get the treatments, the sooner you have a better You. book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a little
bit, but instead of that, this is wonderful blog. A great read.

My mother is really bothered by a lot of the wrinkles she has on her face. It is good to know that plasma fibroblasts can help reduce some of her deeper wrinkles. That is great to know because she is very annoyed by her loose skin on her face. She might want to look into getting a professional to do the treatments for her.

This is some really good information about plasma pens. It is interesting that the healing and recovery time for those are only a few days. That is great for me to understand because my sister has been considering getting some treatments done with a plasma pen but she has young kids that she needs to take care of. So, it is good to know that she could potentially be recovered after 3 days.
