Fall Collagen Smoothie Recipes – Health Benefits of Vitamins
During the fall, our body responds to the changing environment. The available produce changes which tends to shift our diet. Thus, we might eat different things, sleep differently and exercise differently. It’s important to stay energized and keep your body healthy even as its surroundings change. There are so many important vitamins that we need on a day-to-day basis and Dr. B’s latest autumn smoothie recipe contains some key vitamins and minerals that you’ll want to learn more about how and why they are important for you.
Manganese: This vitamin helps your body utilize a number of other vitamins, such as choline, thiamine, and vitamins C and E, while also ensuring proper liver function. Foods that have a good dose of manganese include nuts, such as almonds and pecans, beans and legumes, oatmeal, whole wheat bread, and brown rice.
Potassium: Potassium, the third most abundant mineral in the body, helps key body functions like helping your nerves to function, muscles to contract, and heartbeat to keep regular. You can find potassium in places like bananas, oranges, cantaloupe, honeydew, apricots, grapefruit, cooked spinach, kale, and sweet potatoes.
Iron: Iron is actually a mineral that many people, especially women, tend to be deficient in. Your body needs iron for a variety of vital functions, such as growth, development, hair growth, and hormone production. Your body also uses iron to make hemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body, and myoglobin, a protein that provides oxygen to muscles. High iron foods include shellfish, red meat, spinach, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, and quinoa.
Omega- 3s: A medical grade Omega-3 high in EPA . EPA is the component that improves good HDL and naturally lowers bad Triglycerides. These are a family of essential fatty acids that play important roles in your body and may provide a number of health benefits improving cholesterol, increasing focus, assisting with symptoms of ADD and depression enhancing skin moisture and more. Since your body does not produce them on their own, you must get them through your diet in foods like fatty fish, fish oils, flax seeds, chia seeds, flaxseed oil, and walnuts.
