Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), is an extract of your own blood that contains 3-5 times more platelets, growth factors, and active proteins for tissue healing. Dr. Kelly Burkenstock has studied extensively with Dr. Ridel to perfect her techniques and help rejuvenate your appearance with Platelet Rich Plasma. When PRP is placed back into the skin by injection it initiates a localized stem cell response. Over the weeks and months following treatment this stem cell response recruits collagen-producing cells called fibroblasts. The fibroblasts replace tissue that has been damages or lost through the aging process with healthy skin that looks refreshed and rejuvenated. PRP can be used cosmetically to:
- Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
- Tighten and tone skin
- Treat mild collagen and volume loss
- Help with crow’s feet and dark circles under the eyes
- Reduce acne scarring
- Reduce the appearance of Rosacea
Some age related concerns respond better to Cosmetic PRP while others respond better to hylauronic acid, fillers, peels, or laser resurfacing techniques. The effects of all these treatments are enhanced by using them together. Women and men can benefit from Cosmetic PRP.
Cosmetic PRP is a simple and safe procedure. Because the PRP is extracted from your own blood, there is no risk of disease transmission, allergic reaction, or immune reaction. PRP is an effective and natural way of harnessing the healing power of your own blood to help reverse the signs of aging.
PRP can be repeated, and better results are seen with a total of 2-3 treatments given 3-4 months apart. Patients can expect to see better results as they receive more treatments. With time, the results of PRP get better and better.
It’s nice to layer PRP with traditional fillers. If a patient has volume loss with a lot of fine lines and textural changes, Dr. Kelly Burkenstock will use PRP to create a new foundation of collagen and use dermal fillers for the fine lines.
OHH LaLa! Shot
This PRP procedure is a very specific method using blood-derived growth factors to rejuvenate the vagina to help women improve urinary incontinence and intimacy issues. Biopsy studies suggest that when platlet rich plasma (PRP) is injected, the stem cells multiply and grow younger tissue. In the same way PRP regenerates the skin of the face it appears PRP regenerates healthy vaginal tissue. So, using this same technology, the OHH LaLa ! Shot procedure works by using PRP to stimulate stem cells to grow healthier vaginal tissue. The OHH LaLa! Shot is used to treat:
1) What does the doctor do?
First the doctor or nurse applies a numbing cream to the vagina, then blood is drawn from the arm in the same way as a blood test. After, using a very fine needle, the growth factors are injected into the clitoris and into the upper vagina into an area most important for the sexual response.
2) Does the OHH LaLa! Shot hurt?
Because these areas have been numbed with the anesthetic cream the patient feels little or no pain.
3) What results should I expect after the OHH LaLa! Shot procedure?
Although each woman’s experience can be different, here is a list of some things our patients have told us they experience after having the OHH LaLa! Shot procedure:
Male Menopause Shot
This PRP procedure is used to treat urinary incontinence and sexual problems in men. The doctor or nurse will first apply a numbing cream to your penis, and then a small amount of blood is drawn from your arm in the same way as a blood test. Using a very fine needle, the platelet rich plasma (PRP) is injected into the area. This procedure is thought to be a safe and effective way to treat sexual problems. The Male Menopause Shot is used to treat:
1) How much growth can I expect?
10-20% increase in length and girth.
2) Does it hurt?
A numbing cream is first used to numb the area. The discomfort is about the same as a normal shot to the buttocks, perhaps less.
3) What about scar tissue?
If you look at men who inject 3 to 5 times a week over many years for treatment for erectile dysfunction, there is about a 10% incidence of scar tissue formation. This is with multiple injections for years. With this procedure there is only one injection.
